How to install and configure FTP Server in Ubuntu Linux?

I already installed a FTP Server name vsftpd in Ubuntu. Before installing I was not able to log in to the system but now I am. But I still can’t copy files to my “home” directory or any were else. I tried reinstalling the software but it didn’t help. I think it could be with the configuration but I cant figure out what to do. Can some body help me, thanks in advance!

I signed up for hosting and selected a linux server. The page has a lot of work on it, but now I want to try adding asp to it so I can do more. From a lesson that I’m starting, it looks like it only works with IIS. Is this true?
